The Delhi High Court on Friday cautioned against turning the legal dispute involving Karisma Kapoor’s children and their stepmother Priya Sachdev Kapur into a “melodramatic” affair. Justice Jyoti Singh made the remark after Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, representing Karisma’s children, claimed that the actor’s daughter, currently studying at a US university, had not had her fees paid for two months.
He argued that under the matrimonial decree, their late father Sunjay Kapur was responsible for the children’s educational expenses and that their estate remains with Priya Kapur.
Karisma Kapoor’s Daughter’s Allegations Denied
Priya Kapur’s counsel rejected the allegations, insisting all expenses had been paid and accusing the plaintiffs of creating media buzz.
The case concerns an interim injunction to stop Priya from alienating Sunjay Kapur’s assets, with the children alleging forgery of his 2025 will. The Court will continue the hearing on November 19.
