Karan Johar has finally revealed why star cricketer Virat Kohli has never been a guest on his popular talk show Koffee With Karan. In a recent chat with Sania Mirza on her podcast Serving It Up With Sania, Karan shared that he never invited Virat to the show. The filmmaker admitted he has stopped calling cricketers after the controversy involving Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul.
Why Virat Kohli was never invited
During the conversation, Karan said, “I have never asked Virat.” He explained that after the backlash from Hardik and Rahul’s 2019 episode, he chose not to feature cricketers anymore. That episode was pulled down following criticism over sexist comments, leading to their suspension and leaving Karan feeling responsible for the fallout.
