In a shocking development, gunfire erupted at comedian Kapil Sharma’s café in Surrey, Canada on October 16, 2025, marking the third attack on the eatery since its opening on July 4. The Surrey Police Service responded after reports of shots fired around 3:45 a.m. on 85 Avenue and 120 Street. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though the staff inside the café were shaken.
Attack on Kapil Sharma’s Café
The café had previously faced attacks on July 10 and August 7, with bullets damaging windows and parts of the building. The repeated incidents have raised security concerns for Indian-owned businesses in the area.
Authorities are investigating possible gang connections, as Goldy Dhillon and Kulveer Sidhu of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang have claimed responsibility on social media, warning individuals who “owe or cheat” them and cautioning Bollywood figures critical of their religion. Surveillance footage is under review, and security in the vicinity has been increased. The Indian community in Surrey has expressed alarm, as Kapil Sharma’s café serves as a cultural and social hub, making these repeated attacks all the more distressing.
