Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash as Ravana, is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema. The movie already has a star-studded ensemble, and recently, Jaideep Ahlawat revealed he was almost going to be a part of the movie but had to let it go.
Why did Jaideep Ahlawat reject ‘Ramayana’?
In an interview, Jaideep Ahlawat shared that he turned down ‘Ramayana’ due to scheduling conflicts. He revealed he was offered Vibhishan’s role but his dates did not match with KGF star Yash, who is playing the role of Ravan. Ahlawat said, “Unko ek particular timing chahiye tha kyunki Vibhishan ke saath Ravan ka hona zaroori hain… toh do actors ke dates ke saath match hona tha. I’m sure Ravan ki dates mujh se zyada important hogi.”
‘Ramayana’ Cast
Meanwhile, apart from Ranbir, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, Sunny Deol confirmed he will be playing Hanuman. The movie also stars Ravi Dubey as Laxman, and Lara Dutta will be playing Queen Kaikeyi. The film will release in two parts—Diwali 2026 and the second part in 2027.
