IPL 2025: Mustafizur Rahman Leaves For UAE Hours After Joining Delhi Capitals

Mustafizur Rahman

As IPL resumes after a brief suspension due to India-Pakistan tension, X users are now calling for a ban on the team Delhi Capitals. This comes after DC’s Jake-Fraser McGurk is unwilling to return to India. Several overseas players have refused to come back for the remainder of IPL 2025 as the situation on the border remains tense. Mustafizur Rahman was brought in to replace Jake-Fraser McGurk in the Delhi Capitals.

Mustafizur Rahman controversy

Rahman is a Bangladeshi player, and Bangladesh has been friendly with Pakistan, after which #BoycottDelhiCapitals started trending on X. However, a new controversy has erupted as Rahman has also not agreed to come back. However, hours after signing for Delhi Capitals, Rahman left for the UAE to play for the Bangladesh national team as the Bangladesh Cricket Board reportedly did not provide him with the No Objection Certificate (NOC). Mustafizur Rahman confirmed his departure from Delhi Capitals on social media as he posted a picture with the caption: “Heading to UAE to play against them. Keep me in your prayers.”
