Kuwait–Hyderabad IndiGo Flight Diverted to Mumbai Amid Bomb Threat Email

IndiGo

An IndiGo flight travelling from Kuwait to Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai on December 2, 2025, after authorities received a detailed email warning of a human bomb on board. The threat message, sent to officials at Hyderabad airport, was assessed as specific and credible. Flight 6E1234, an Airbus A321-251NX, had taken off from Kuwait at 1:56 am and was scheduled to land in Hyderabad.

IndiGo Flight Emergency Protocols Deployed

However, protocols were immediately activated after the alert. The aircraft safely landed at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at 8:10 am and was moved to an isolation bay for a thorough security check.

Security teams and emergency responders remained on standby, and all precautionary measures were implemented. There was no immediate information on the number of passengers on board, and IndiGo had not issued an official statement at the time.

The incident followed a similar hoax email received on Monday by a private school in the Mira Road area of Thane. The threat triggered a bomb squad search but was later declared false.
