IndiGo faced major disruption on Wednesday as the airline cancelled more than 200 flights and delayed many others across airports in the country. This was the second day in a row that the carrier struggled to operate a large portion of its schedule. The airline, which operates over 2,200 flights daily, recorded just 35 percent punctuality on December 2 — the lowest among major airlines.
IndiGo Cancels Over 200 Flights
According to DGCA data, the airline cancelled 1,232 flights in November, with 755 affected by crew and FDTL issues. Sources say the airline is dealing with a serious shortage of cockpit and cabin crew, partly due to Emirates’ ongoing recruitment drive in Delhi and Mumbai. Airports in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Srinagar saw dozens of cancellations, as frustration grew among passengers.
