India’s Ministry of External Affairs sharply responded to Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir’s recent nuclear threat made during his visit to the United States. India accused Pakistan of using nuclear threats as a routine tactic and questioned the control over its nuclear weapons. The MEA reaffirmed India’s commitment to safeguarding its national security and dismissed Pakistan’s warning as an attempt at nuclear blackmail.
MEA Issues Strong Statement
The MEA called Munir’s remarks irresponsible and highlighted Pakistan’s military ties with terrorist groups. It urged the international community to judge Pakistan’s conduct for themselves. India stressed that it will not bow to nuclear threats and will take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and security. The statement echoed Prime Minister Modi’s stance against nuclear intimidation.
