India and China have agreed to resume direct flights between the two countries by the end of this month, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Thursday. IndiGo confirmed it will restart daily flights from Kolkata to Guangzhou from 26 October. The resumption follows technical discussions between civil aviation authorities and is part of efforts to gradually normalise bilateral relations, enhancing air connectivity and exchanges between people.

Direct flights, suspended since 2020, will restart later this month. IndiGo will operate daily services between Kolkata and Guangzhou, and plans to commence flights from Delhi to Guangzhou once the necessary approvals are received. The MEA stated that the resumption follows technical discussions between civil aviation authorities. The India China Direct Flights are expected to boost trade, travel, and bilateral cooperation.
