IND vs ENG 3rd Test: Why Players and Fans are Wearing Red at Lord’s?

IND vs ENG 3rd Test

Lord’s turned red on Day 2 of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test as players, staff, and thousands of fans wore red shirts, hats, and scarves. Both the England and India teams joined in the #RedForRuth campaign, a yearly tradition now in its seventh year. England started the day off 251/4, with Joe Root on 99 and Ben Stokes at the crease. Most people in the crowd were dressed in red, showing their support. A short ceremony was also held before the match began.

About Ruth Strauss Foundation

The Ruth Strauss Foundation was established to honour the memory of Ruth Strauss. She was the late wife of former England cricket captain Andrew Strauss and died of cancer in 2018. The foundation helps families whose parents are seriously ill. It offers support to the children and trains doctors and nurses to deal with grief. Every year, one day of a Test at Lord’s turns red to raise money and awareness for this work.
