All eyes are now focused on Raja Raghuvanshi’s honeymoon turned murder case. Raja, an Indore resident, was found dead during his honeymoon in Meghalaya. His wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, planned his murder along with her lover Raj Khushwaha. Sonam had reportedly convinced him to first visit the Kamakhya Devi Temple in Guwahati before heading to Meghalaya. She told him they would consummate the marriage only after offering prayers at the temple.
Sonam Raghuvanshi’s plan
Police now believe this was part of a pre-planned conspiracy. A Senior official told PTI, “Sonam told Raja that they should first visit the Kamakhya Devi Temple and offer prayers before consummating the marriage.” Raja’s mother, Uma, accused Sonam of using her son as a “human sacrifice” due to her mangal dosh and belief in astrology.
She claimed Sonam Raghuvanshi practiced black magic and used “vashikaran” to control Raja. She suspects the date of the murder was chosen for spiritual reasons. Uma also mentioned that Sonam gave Raja a “special necklace” after visiting the temple, which she now links to black magic. Sonam surrendered in Ghazipur. Police have arrested her, Raj, and three others who Sonam hired to kill her husband.
