The ‘Hera Pheri 3’ clash has taken a new turn! Actor Paresh Rawal has confirmed sending a legal response to Akshay Kumar after being served a notice over his exit from the movie. Rawal, who plays the iconic Babu Bhaiya, had announced his departure from the film on May 18. He also claimed that he has returned Rs 11 lakh with interest.
Paresh Returns Rs 11 Lakh
Paresh’s overall price for the project was set at Rs 15 crore. Paresh reportedly refunded the sum he had previously been paid, Rs 11 lakh, along with 15% interest. Rawal’s legal team also questioned how losses could be claimed when no official material was provided. According to them, Rawal exited in good faith and returned the signing amount with interest. He was reportedly paid Rs 11 lakh, and his total fee was to be Rs 15 crore.
‘Hera Pheri 3’ row continues
On May 25, Rawal wrote on X, “My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response, all issues will be laid to rest.”

Akshay’s team earlier warned of legal consequences, citing financial losses from crew, cast, and trailer shoot expenses. However, Rawal’s lawyer, in an interview with Times Of India, stated that the actor never received a script or agreement from Akshay’s production team.
Meanwhile, original producer Firoz Nadiadwala has sent a legal notice to Akshay, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and director Priyadarshan. It claims all character rights remain with him and bars the team from using the ‘Hera Pheri’ brand. The dispute continues, as fans await clarity on the future of the beloved comedy franchise.
