When fruits and milk are combined, chemical interactions might occur, potentially resulting in negative effects. Ayurveda considers milk and fruits incompatible, with a few exceptions.
Fruits to avoid with milk
Consuming citrus fruits such as oranges, strawberries, and grapes with milk might result in stomach aches, vomiting, or gastritis. Citrus fruit contains vitamin C, which can react with milk. Bananas with milk are heavy to digest and may cause stomach problems. Radishes heat up, whilst milk cools down. Eating radishes and milk together might result in stomach ache, heartburn, and acid reflux.
Fruits that can be consumed with mlik
Ripe mango, dates, raisins, and bananas are sweet and non-sour fruits consumed with milk (in moderation).
