Kapil Sharma’s Kap’s Cafe in Surrey, Canada, had a grand opening just few days ago. On July 9, it was targeted in a late-night shooting. The cafe had only been operational for 2–3 days. A video circulating online appears to show gunfire from a vehicle aimed at the cafe’s exterior. Fortunately, no customers were present during the incident, and no injuries were reported.

The incident is suspected to be an intimidation attempt. Khalistani terrorist Harjeet Singh Laddi, associated with Babbar Khalsa International, has claimed responsibility, citing offense over remarks made about Nihang Sikhs on Sharma’s comedy show. Surrey Police confirmed shots were fired at the property around 1:50 am, damaging the exterior while staff were still inside. The investigation is ongoing.
