Greater Noida Dowry Case: Murder or Suicide? Accused Shares Instagram Story with Different Claim

Greater Noida Dowry Case

A Greater Noida dowry case has raised serious concerns over dowry harassment and violence against women. Nikki, 28, was allegedly set on fire by her husband, Vipin Bhati, over a Rs 36 lakh dowry demand. Just hours before his arrest, Vipin shared an Instagram post hinting that his wife had taken her own life. Authorities have stated that social media posts will be examined along with the victim’s family’s statements. Officials are treating the matter as a dowry death while further evidence is being collected.

Instagram Posts Before Arrest

According to reports, Vipin Bhati shared an Instagram story just before his arrest in the Greater Noida dowry case, writing an emotional message to his wife, Nikki. The post read in Hindi, “Why did you leave me? The world is calling me a killer.”He also shared a video in which he smiled with Nikki and their son. Another post stated that he felt devastated and was left with nothing. These claims appear to shift the blame, suggesting suicide. However, police say the post may have been an attempt to mislead the investigation. Hours later, Vipin was taken into custody on charges of murder.

Family Demands Justice

In the Greater Noida dowry case, Nikki’s family strongly denies the suicide claim, alleging years of dowry-related harassment. Her sister Kanchan, who is also married into the same family, stated that both sisters were tortured for years over a Rs 36 lakh demand. She claims to have witnessed Vipin and his relatives dousing Nikki with flammable liquids and setting her on fire. Nikki’s son also testified that his father set his mother ablaze using a lighter. Police have named Vipin, his parents, and his elder brother in the case, and further arrests are underway. The family has demanded strict punishment for all the accused.
