A Bengaluru court has sentenced Prajwal Revanna, former J.D(S) MP and grandson of ex-Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, to life imprisonment for raping a 47-year-old domestic worker in Mysuru. The court also imposed a Rs 11 lakh fine to be paid as compensation to the survivor. The case moved swiftly, concluding just 14 months after it was filed. Revanna was accused of recording the assault, and key video and forensic evidence helped secure the conviction.
Forensic Confirmed Crime
The court used strong forensic evidence to prove the case. The survivor gave a saree she had saved, which tested positive for sperm. This became a key part of the evidence. The court also looked at video clips and reports from the crime scene. A total of 23 witnesses were called during the trial. All of this helped the court decide that Prajwal Revanna was guilty and give him a life sentence.
