A case has been registered at Jalandhar’s Sadar Police Station against Bollywood actors Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, along with director Gopichand Malineni and producer Naveen Yerneni, for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through a scene in their upcoming film ‘Jaat’.
Complaint
According to the complaint, a crucifixion scene in the film mocks Lord Jesus Christ, deeply offending the Christian community. The controversial scene shows Randeep Hooda’s character, the main villain, standing beneath a crucifix inside a church’s sacred pulpit as people pray. The depiction of hooliganism and intimidation inside the church has been called disrespectful, with community members demanding a ban on the film for desecrating a sacred space.
