Recently, a gang of fake CBI officers robbed crores of rupees from a businessman in the Vivek Vihar area of Delhi by posing as CBI officers. This incident has shocked many. Manpreet, a businessman from Indirapuram, had kept about Rs 2.5 crore in his office. On 19 August, he asked his friend Ravi Shankar to bring Rs 1.10 crore home. As soon as Shankar stepped out with the cash, four people, including a woman, stopped him in two cars.
They claimed to be CBI officials, assaulted him, and snatched the bag. The gang then forced Shankar inside the property, where they also attacked Manpreet’s employee, Deepak Maheshwari, and took the remaining cash.
Cash Recovered Successfully
Police traced the vehicles to Faridabad and linked them to an NGO. Rs 1.08 crore was recovered, and two suspects were arrested. Investigations are ongoing to locate the remaining culprits and the stolen money. The authorities have warned the public to stay alert, as incidents involving fake CBI officers are on the rise.
