The Election Commission of India (ECI) has extended the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) deadline in six states and one Union Territory. However, the schedule for West Bengal remains unchanged. The enumeration period for Goa, Rajasthan, Lakshadweep, West Bengal, and Puducherry still ends today as planned.
SIR Deadlines Extended Across States
Today was earlier marked as the last day of enumeration for 11 states and three UTs, with Kerala already granted an extension until December 18. As per the ECI’s latest update, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat will now complete enumeration by December 14, while Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been given time until December 18. Uttar Pradesh has received the longest extension, with the revised deadline set for December 26.
Draft Roll Publication Dates
The draft rolls for Tamil Nadu and Gujarat will be published on December 19; for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on December 23; and for Uttar Pradesh on December 31. Kerala will release its draft roll on December 23. The final electoral rolls will be published in February 2026.
