On this day, people worship Lord Dhanvantari for good health and Goddess Lakshmi for wealth. Many also buy gold, silver, or new utensils, as it is considered very lucky. Dhanteras 2025: Puja Timing

The official Dhanteras 2025 puja muhurat in New Delhi is from 7:16 pm to 8:20 pm on October 18. The pradosh kaal is from 5:48 pm to 8:20 pm, and the vrishabha kaal, the most auspicious time, is from 7:16 pm to 9:11 pm. During this period, people perform Lakshmi Puja, Dhanvantari Puja, and light the Yama Deepam for health and wealth. Many also clean and decorate their homes, buy new utensils or gold, and prepare sweets. Families come together in the evening to pray and share blessings. Performing these rituals at the right time is believed to bring good luck and prosperity.

Dhanteras Muhurat

The Dhanteras puja muhurat differs slightly in each city. In Mumbai, it is from 7:49 pm to 8:41 pm; Pune, 7:46 pm to 8:38 pm; Kolkata, 6:41 pm to 7:38 pm; Bengaluru, 7:39 pm to 8:25 pm; and Chennai, 7:28 pm to 8:15 pm. Hyderabad’s muhurat is 7:29 pm to 8:20 pm; Ahmedabad, 7:44 pm to 8:41 pm; Jaipur, 7:24 pm to 8:26 pm; Gurgaon, 7:17 pm to 8:20 pm; Chandigarh, 7:14 pm to 8:20 pm; and Noida, 7:15 pm to 8:19 pm. Performing the puja at the correct time is considered very important to receive blessings and bring prosperity to the home. Families often gather in the evening, light lamps, and pray together to make the day special.
