Bihar Sigma Gang Members Killed
The encounter took place around 2:20 am on the night of 22–23 October 2025, when Delhi Police and Bihar Police launched a joint operation. Officials revealed that the slain Bihar Sigma Gang members had been under surveillance after audio evidence surfaced of their plan to create terror in Bihar before the elections. The gang had recently carried out five consecutive murders, spreading fear across Sitamarhi and nearby districts, prompting urgent action by law enforcement.
Gang’s Criminal History
Ranjan Pathak, the leader of the Bihar Sigma Gang, operated from Nepal and was known for his audacity and brutality. Over the past six years, he and his gang had executed multiple murders, including the killing of Ganesh Sharma, Sitamarhi’s district president of the Brahmarshi Samaj. Police said the gang’s activities had created panic among residents, making their neutralisation a priority ahead of the upcoming Bihar elections. The operation is being hailed as a major success in curbing organised crime in Bihar.
