A morning shock awaited Chennai Metro passengers on December 2, 2025. A train heading towards the Wimco Nagar Depot suddenly stopped inside a subway, forcing commuters to walk along the railway track. The incident took place on the Blue Line, which runs between Chennai International Airport and the Wimco Nagar Depot.
It occurred after a technical glitch brought the train to a halt between Central Metro and High Court stations. Passengers reported that the coach had no electricity, leaving them confused and standing in the dark.

After nearly 10 minutes of feeling trapped, an announcement was made. Passengers were instructed to walk nearly 500 metres to the High Court station.
Another video showed commuters queuing up. They were seen walking slowly through the dark tunnel.
