Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made her second red carpet appearance at the 78th Cannes Film Festival on Thursday. She wore a striking black gown with a white cape, designed by Gaurav Gupta. The cape featured an embroidered Sanskrit shloka from the Bhagavad Gita, placed at the back of her neck.

The outfit was titled Heiress of Calm. The designer called it a custom creation with spiritual meaning. The gown was hand-embroidered with cosmic patterns in silver, gold, black, and charcoal, using micro glass crystals for added depth. The cape was made of Banarasi brocade, handwoven in Varanasi. It carried the Gita shloka: “Karmanye vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana…” which means one should focus on action, not the result. Aishwarya was seen posing alongside Cara Delevingne and Helen Mirren, making it a moment to remember.
