Bus Catches Fire on Hyderabad-Bengaluru Highway
Police said the bus struck a two-wheeler whose fuel tank leaked, and sparks from the bike ignited the blaze. The fire spread rapidly because of the materials inside the bus, and the jammed doors trapped many passengers. Firefighters arrived promptly to extinguish the flames. Survivors were taken to Kurnool Government Hospital, and officials are identifying the victims.
Tragic history repeats on Hyderabad-Bengaluru highway: In 2013, 45 souls lost in a Volvo bus fire near Palem after hitting a culvert. Now in 2025, a Kaveri Travels bus caught fire after colliding with a bike in Kurnool, claiming over 20 lives. A grim reminder of urgent safety… pic.twitter.com/YNPZpjgy7P
