Chennai Police were put on alert after bomb threat emails were sent to Tamil superstars Rajinikanth and Dhanush, along with Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President K. Sevalperunthagai, via the DGP’s official email ID on Monday, 27 October. The email claimed that explosives had been placed at their residences.

Bomb Threat

Following this, the Teynampet Police and a bomb detection squad rushed to Rajinikanth’s house for inspection. However, officials later confirmed it was a hoax, as no suspicious activity or object was found.

Similar hoax threats have recently targeted other Tamil celebrities such as Trisha Krishnan, Vijay, and Ilaiyaraaja, as well as politicians, including Chief Minister M. K. Stalin. Police have traced previous incidents to prank callers and cyber offenders.
