This festival is about blessings, protection, and togetherness shared through age-old traditions and heartfelt rituals. Date and Shubh Muhurat

According to the Hindu calendar, the Dwitiya Tithi begins on 22 October 2025 at 8:16 pm and ends on 23 October 2025 at 10:46 pm. Based on this, Bhai Dooj 2025 will be celebrated on 23 October 2025. The most auspicious time for the tilak ceremony falls between 1:13 pm and 3:28 pm, when sisters can perform the rituals for their brothers.

Meaning and Celebration of Bhai Dooj

It is believed that Bhai Dooj started when Lord Krishna visited his sister Subhadra after defeating the demon Narakasura. She greeted him with sweets, flowers, and applied a tilak on his forehead. Since then, this day has come to represent love and care between brothers and sisters. On Bhai Dooj 2025, sisters pray for their brothers’ long and happy life, perform aarti, and put a red tika on their foreheads. In return, brothers bless their sisters and give them gifts or money as a sign of love.
