BCCI Suspends IPL 2025 Due to India-Pakistan Conflict

IPL 2025

IPL 2025: The Indian Premier League 2025 has been suspended indefinitely following a sharp escalation in military tensions between India and Pakistan. The situation triggered an April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The decision was announced a day after the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was abandoned midway in Dharamsala due to air raid alerts in nearby regions of Jammu and Pathankot.

BCCI’s Announcement

The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced this on Friday following an emergency meeting with tournament officials. The board cited the safety of players, support staff, and fans as its top priority.

A senior BCCI official said, “It does not look nice that cricket goes on while the country is at war.” The suspension casts into doubt the rest of the season, which was supposed to end on May 25 in Kolkata.
