Apple has strengthened India’s position as a global manufacturing hub by exporting iPhones worth over $50 billion (Rs 4.15–4.20 lakh crore) from the country in 2025. The milestone was confirmed by Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav and reflects the success of the Make in India initiative. The export value translates to nearly Rs 4.51 lakh crore, marking a major boost for India’s electronics sector.
Apple’s India Manufacturing Drives Job Growth
Sharing the update on X, Vaishnav said Apple achieved the record under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a producer economy. As per reports, Apple shipped iPhones worth about $16 billion (around Rs 1.33 lakh crore) from India in the first nine months of the 2025–26 financial year. The company joined India’s Production Linked Incentive scheme in 2022 and has since created around 3.5 lakh direct and indirect jobs.

India now hosts five iPhone factories run by Tata and Foxconn, supported by nearly 45 supplier companies. Vaishnav also highlighted that electronics production has grown six times and exports eight times over the last 11 years.
