The ongoing 8-hour-shift for new mom’s controversy is creating a stir in Bollywood. Last week Deepika Padukone left Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film ‘Spirit’ as one of her request of 8-hour-shift was not considered. Actress Kajol recently attended the trailer launch of her upcoming film ‘Maa’. During the event, she was asked about the demand for an 8-hour work shift by new mothers in the film industry. Kajol responded warmly, saying she loves the idea of working less. Her husband, actor Ajay Devgn, backed the sentiment.

Ajay Devgn seemingly sided with Padukone and was heard saying, “It’s not that it is not going down well with people. A lot of people understand. Most of the honest filmmakers would not have a problem with it. Also, other than new moms working for 8 hours, most people have started working for 8 hours. I think it’s person to person, and most of the industry understands.”
