New footage has surfaced showing the terrifying moments after the Air India crash near Ahmedabad airport. The London-bound flight, carrying 242 people, struck the BJ Medical College Hostel shortly after takeoff on June 12. Not just passengers, several students on the ground were killed as well.

In the viral videos being circulated on social media, MBBS students are seen desperately escaping the building. Some tied clothes and bedsheets to climb down from balconies. Others used railings as smoke filled the air and panic broke out.The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner’s tail crashed into the hostel mess at 1:43 pm, just minutes after takeoff. Many students and doctors were having lunch when the impact occurred.

While all passengers, except one, died in the crash, nearly 30 people on the ground were also killed. The hostel, just a kilometre from the airport, turned into a disaster zone in seconds. What began as a normal lunch break became a fight for survival.
