Among the deceased was Dirdh Patel, a 23-year-old all-rounder and recent Artificial Intelligence graduate from the University of Huddersfield. Gujarat based young cricketer represented Leeds Modernians in the UK, where he made a mark in the 2024 season with 312 runs and 29 wickets.

The Airedale and Wharfedale Senior Cricket League shared that Dirdh planned to continue cricket while starting his career. His brother, Krutik, also played club cricket in the UK. As a tribute, both Leeds Modernians and Pool Cricket Club observed a minute’s silence to honor his memory. His university professors described him as a bright and exceptional student. The sudden loss of Dirdh has left his loved ones and well-wishers deeply heartbroken.
