The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has slammed Pakistani actors Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan for alleged “anti-India” remarks. The group renewed its demand for a full ban on Pakistani artists in India. AICWA claimed Mahira called India’s military response “seriously cowardly.” It also accused Fawad of promoting divisive narratives instead of condemning terrorism.
AICWA renews ban on Pak artist
AICWA called their statements “an insult to brave Indian soldiers.” It stressed that no Pakistani artist, filmmaker, or financier should work in India. The group warned Indian artists against collaborating with Pakistani talent, calling it “a betrayal of national pride.” They also criticised the film ‘Abir Gulal’ for casting Fawad Khan. It said the move disrespects the martyrs of the 2019 Pulwama attack. The group urged Bollywood to prioritise national interest over cross-border ties.
