The Patiala House Court in Delhi has summoned veteran actor Dharmendra and two others concerning a cheating case related to the Garam Dharam Dhaba franchise. Judicial Magistrate Yashdeep Chahal issued the summons following a complaint by Delhi businessman Sushil Kumar, who claimed he was misled into investing in the franchise.
Judge’s statement
“The evidence on record prima facie indicates that the accused persons induced the complainant in furtherance of their common intent, and the ingredients of the offence of cheating are duly disclosed.
Court’s order
Accordingly, the accused persons listed at serial number 1 (Dharam Singh Deol), 2, and 3 are to be summoned for offences under Section 420 and Section 120B read with Section 34 of the IPC. Additionally, the accused at serial numbers 2 and 3 are to be summoned for the offence of criminal intimidation under Section 506 of the IPC.
