‘Singham Again’, the latest installment in the blockbuster franchise, is a perfect blend of pulse-pounding action, gripping storytelling, and larger-than-life heroism. Ajay Devgn reprises his iconic role as DCP Bajirao Singham, and once again, he proves why he’s one of Bollywood’s finest action stars.
From the very first scene, the film hooks you with its high-stakes drama and relentless energy. Director Rohit Shetty has taken everything fans love about the ‘Singham’ series and cranked it up to 11. The action sequences are bigger, the stakes higher, and the intensity unyielding. Whether it’s a high-speed car chase or a bone-crunching fight scene, ‘Singham Again’ delivers thrilling moments that keep you at the edge of your seat.
Premise
The plot revolves around the gallant cop Bajirao Singham and his band of brave hearts embarking on a cross-border quest to save his loving wife, Avni Singham, who has been kidnapped by a dangerous antagonist. This instalment promises a tremendous conflict between good and evil, continuing the series’ history of never disappointing you.
Performances
Ajay Devgn shines as Bajirao Singham, bringing the character a perfect blend of grit, charisma, and emotional depth. His commanding presence on screen is unmatched, and his portrayal of the no-nonsense, incorruptible cop continues to resonate with audiences. Devgn’s intensity and impeccable action skills make Singham a character you can’t help but root for.
Kareena Kapoor appears as Avni and the entire story revolves around her. She looks beautiful in her and has done a great job.
At first glance, Jackie Shroff‘s villain role as Omar Hafeez seems promising. However, just as he begins to gain attention, the picture undermines his potential, deflating one of the few true sources of suspense.
Deepika Padukone is the new lady cop, Shakti Shetty. She chases down henchmen, but her scenarios gradually become cliché. She single-handedly outwits gangsters who have been pummeling male officers—a power fantasy, but neither plausible nor new.
Arjun Kapoor is for sure a powerful villain but the way he was so normally killed in the end was a little disappointing as the audiences expected more of him.
Conclusion
At 2 hours and 24 minutes, ‘Singham Again’ is a more or less fascinating watch and the screenplay is incoherent in places and even bloated, which slows the pace. However, Rohit ensured no time was wasted in building the tone and background for the plot’s central theme. Interestingly, this is one of those commercial potboilers without any songs. Overall, ‘Singham Again’ had potential, but it was buried under too many thin layers.
