Bangladesh has witnessed another violent death involving a Hindu citizen, intensifying concerns over law and order as well as minority safety in the country. The incident comes just days after the lynching of Dipu Chandra Das, which drew widespread criticism and condemnation. While authorities insist the latest killing was not communal in nature, the timing has fuelled political debate and public anxiety amid ongoing unrest and allegations against the interim government.
Second Hindu Man Killed in Bangladesh
The second victim, 29-year-old Amrit Mondal, alias Samrat, was beaten to death on Christmas Eve in Rajbari’s Pangsha upazila. Police said Samrat, allegedly a gang leader involved in extortion and criminal activities, was attacked by villagers who mistook his group for thieves. Authorities rescued him from the mob, but he later died in the hospital.
