IPL 2026 Auction: 9 Players Dropped from List, New Names Added

IPL 2026

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has unexpectedly removed the names of nine players who were added late to the IPL 2026 mini-auction list earlier this month. These players were included on December 9 and appended to the end of the original shortlist, increasing the total number from 350 to 359.

However, as of Saturday, December 13, their names are no longer visible on the official auction list, and the league has not issued any clarification. The group consisted of six Indian players and three overseas cricketers, all placed at the bottom of the list with assigned base prices.

Indian Players Removed from List

Mani Sankar Mura Singh is a seasoned all-rounder from Tripura, known for his power-hitting in domestic cricket, and was listed with a base price of Rs 30 lakh.

Chama Milind, representing Hyderabad, is a left-arm fast-medium bowler and a capable all-rounder. His base price was Rs 30 lakh.

K. L. Shrijith, a wicketkeeper-batter from Karnataka, has been consistent in domestic competitions and was listed at Rs 30 lakh.

Swastik Chikara, a 20-year-old batter, drew attention last season while associated with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, despite not playing. His strong performances in local leagues earned him a base price of Rs 30 lakh.

Rahul Raj Namala, who represents Uttarakhand in domestic cricket, was included with a base price of Rs 30 lakh.

Virat Singh, a left-handed batter from Jharkhand who has previously played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, was also listed at Rs 30 lakh.

Overseas Players Removed from List

Virandeep Singh, an all-rounder from Malaysia with impressive T20 statistics—over 3,000 runs and 105 wickets—was classified as an associate player with a base price of Rs 30 lakh.

Eathan Bosch from South Africa, a right-arm fast-medium all-rounder and capped international, had a base price of Rs 75 lakh.

Chris Green of Australia, an off-spinner and lower-order finisher, was also listed at Rs 75 lakh.

Uncertainty Grows

More than 1,000 players initially registered for the IPL 2026 mini-auction. From this pool, the league shortlisted 350 players based on interest expressed by the ten franchises. The late addition of these nine players already raised questions, and their sudden removal has increased the uncertainty. The IPL 2026 mini-auction is scheduled to be held on December 16 in Abu Dhabi.
