Vinesh Phogat Reverses Retirement Decision, Aims for Comeback at 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat has announced her return to competitive wrestling after 18 months of retirement. The 31-year-old stepped away from the sport following a disqualification at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where she missed the gold-medal match by just 100 grams. In an Instagram post, Vinesh said her time away helped her reflect and regain focus. She now plans to prepare for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and continue her pursuit of Olympic success.

Vinesh Phogat Announces Return to Wrestling

Vinesh said her break allowed her to recharge and reconnect with the sport. Despite the setback at Paris 2024, she remains determined to compete at the highest level. With the 2028 Olympics in her sights, she is preparing for a comeback aimed at bringing her closer to achieving India’s first Olympic gold in women’s wrestling.
