At Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Droupadi Murmu’s pure vegetarian banquet stole the spotlight, featuring a vibrant spread of India’s rich regional flavours. The dinner followed a ceremonial welcome and marked a key formal event of Putin’s two-day visit to India, as well as his final engagement before returning to Moscow.
Starters
The banquet began with Murungelai Chaaru, a light, warming soup, followed by an array of vegetarian appetisers, including Gucchi Doon Chetin, Kaale Chane ke Shikampuri, and Vegetable Jhol Momo with chutney—representing flavours from Kashmir to the eastern Himalayas.
Main Course
For the main course, Rashtrapati Bhavan’s chefs presented Zafrani Paneer Roll, Palak Methi Mattar Ka Saag, Tandoori Bharwan Aloo, Achaari Baingan, and Yellow Dal Tadka, accompanied by Dry Fruit and Saffron Pulao and Indian breads such as Lachha Paratha, Magaz Naan, Satanaj Roti, Missi Roti, and Biscuity Roti.
Desserts
Desserts included Badam ka Halwa, Kesar-Pista Kulfi, Gur Sandesh, Murukku, and fresh fruits. Beverages such as pomegranate, orange, and carrot & ginger juices were served alongside salads of beetroot, Khaman Kakdi, and Shakarkandi Papdi Chaat with Kamrak Boondi Raita.
