- Economic Cooperation Till 2030
India and Russia approved a plan to expand trade and target $100 billion in total trade by 2030.
- Oil and Energy Supplies
Russia is committed to continuing a steady supply of oil to India and now provides about 36% of India’s crude oil.
- Nuclear Energy Plans
Discussions progressed on building a second nuclear power plant using Russian technology. India will select and provide the project site.
- Fertiliser Investment
RCF, IPL, and NFL from India signed an MoU with Russia’s Uralchem to build a $1.2 billion urea plant. It will produce 2 million tonnes annually and is expected to become operational by mid-2028.
- Critical Minerals Partnership
Both sides agreed to cooperate on exploring, processing, and recycling critical minerals and rare earths, which are essential for modern industries.
- Financial and Payment Systems
India and Russia will continue efforts to use national currencies for trade and strengthen links between their payment systems and financial messaging platforms.
- Stronger Trade Routes
Cooperation will increase on transport corridors such as the International North–South Transport Corridor, the Chennai–Vladivostok route, and the Northern Sea Route to improve trade efficiency.
- Cooperation in Russia’s Far East and Arctic
Both countries plan to boost investment in mining, energy, agriculture, diamonds, pharmaceuticals, and shipping in the Russian Far East and Arctic regions.
