President Vladimir Putin said Russia is ready for war if Europe starts one, accusing European leaders of blocking a possible peace plan for the Ukraine conflict. His comments came just before his visit to India and ahead of a meeting in Moscow with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. He argued that Europe is not working towards peace and is instead increasing pressure on the situation.
Putin Rejects Europe’s Peace Deal
He also rejected Europe’s changes to the US draft peace plan, calling them unacceptable for Russia. He said the edits were intended to slow negotiations. The original 28-point US proposal was revised after objections from Kyiv and several European capitals. European leaders maintain that Ukraine should not be forced into agreeing to terms they consider unfair or overly favourable to Russia.
