Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Sohail Afridi has made a strong and shocking claim, stating that Pakistan’s federal authorities have been supporting and even ‘manufacturing’ terrorism for their own political benefit. Speaking after a series of violent incidents in the region, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM accused Islamabad of blocking peace efforts and keeping the province trapped in fear. His statement has sparked a nationwide debate, adding pressure on the federal government, which is already struggling with rising unrest across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
CM Accuses Islamabad of ‘Manufactured Terrorism’
Afridi said that powerful groups in Islamabad have been staging fake attacks and creating chaos in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to advance their own agenda. According to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM, the recent abduction of Peace Jirga participants proves that peace efforts are being deliberately sabotaged. He said people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are tired of decades of manipulation, violence, and decisions imposed from the centre.
CM Demands Peace
Afridi also accused the armed forces of targeting civilians in the name of counter-terror operations. He pointed to recent airstrikes in Tirah Valley that killed civilians, calling them part of a long pattern of ‘brutality and deception’. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM said KP will no longer accept policies that create fear, destabilise border areas, and harm innocent people. He stressed that anyone disrupting peace is a ‘common enemy’ of the province.
