Royal Challengers Bengaluru On Sale. The IPL 2025 champions are set for new ownership as Diageo begins a strategic review of its sports investment. The company, which owns both the IPL and WPL teams, plans to complete the sale by 31 March 2026. Reports suggest the franchise could fetch up to Rs 16,600 crore (USD 2 billion), drawing interest from prominent Indian investors, including Adar Poonawalla.

RCB Ownership Change Likely Before IPL 2026

In its BSE filing, Diageo stated that the process to sell Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is aimed at ensuring long-term value creation for the company and its stakeholders. CEO Praveen Someshwar said that while RCB remains a valuable and respected franchise, it is not part of Diageo’s core business focus. The team will continue to take part in the IPL and WPL, with player auctions scheduled for 27 November.
