Dulquer Salmaan Named in Notice Over Rice Brand Food Poisoning Allegations

The Pathanamthitta Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Kerala has issued a notice to actor Dulquer Salmaan, brand ambassador of Rose brand biryani rice, to appear before it on December 3. The complaint, filed by caterer P. N. Jayarajan, alleges that the rice purchased for a wedding caused food poisoning as it lacked a packing or expiry date.

Dulquer Salmaan Faces Legal Notice

The petitioner claimed he bought the rice influenced by Dulquer’s advertisement for the brand. He stated that the incident led to several wedding booking cancellations, damaging his catering business’s reputation. The complaint seeks Rs 5 lakh as compensation, Rs 10,250 for the rice, and court expenses from the actor, the brand’s managing director, and the store manager named in the case.
