India has started its major military drill, Operation Trishul, near the Pakistan border. The 10-day tri-service exercise involves the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The aim is to test India’s joint war preparedness and defence strength. Soon after the drills began, Pakistan issued a notice closing large parts of its airspace and put its airbases on high alert, sparking new tension between the two neighbouring countries.
India’s Operation Trishul
Operation Trishul will take place from October 30 to November 10 in Gujarat’s Rann of Kutch and Sir Creek areas. The exercise includes over 20,000 troops, tanks, fighter jets such as Rafales and Sukhois, warships, and missile systems. The Defence Ministry said Trishul aims to demonstrate India’s defence readiness, teamwork, and self-reliance. The armed forces will conduct land, air, and sea operations during the large-scale military drill.
Pakistan on High Alert
Pakistan has issued a NOTAM covering most of its air routes and instructed its Air Force and Navy to remain on alert. The move comes as India’s massive military exercise begins near the border. Reports suggest Islamabad has increased aerial patrols and surveillance. Defence experts say Pakistan’s action reflects concern over India’s growing military activities in the region.
