The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the attack, allegedly targeting Nattan over his growing closeness with fellow singer Sardar Khera, as confirmed in a social media post.

According to reports, the Bishnoi gang warned other Punjabi singers in Canada against associating with Sardar Khera, threatening further action. The police have begun an investigation into the incident. Similar attacks have occurred recently, including shootings outside cafes and homes of singers such as Prem Dhillon and AP Dhillon, raising concerns about escalating gang violence targeting Punjabi artists abroad.
