A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Delhi High Court against the upcoming film The Taj Story, starring Paresh Rawal, alleging that it distorts historical facts and could disturb communal harmony. The plea, submitted by advocate Shakeel Abbas, claims that the film is based on fabricated facts and aims to mislead the public about the Taj Mahal’s history.
Paresh Rawal’s Film Controversy
The petition highlights that the teaser shows the dome of the Taj Mahal lifting to reveal a figure of Lord Shiva, sparking public concern. The film’s makers, including producer Suresh Jha and director Tushar Amrish Goel, along with the CBFC and the Union of India, have been named as respondents.
The PIL urges the court to review the film’s certification, add disclaimers, and take preventive measures to avoid any communal unrest upon its release.
