Bollywood actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has been granted bail by a Bathinda court in a defamation case linked to her controversial social media post during the farmers’ protest. The case arose after she allegedly misidentified a farmer protester, Mahinder Kaur, as a Shaheen Bagh activist, Bilkis Bano, in a post that went viral.
Arriving at the court around 2 p.m., dressed in a saree and sunglasses, Kangana expressed regret, calling the issue a “misunderstanding” and adding, “Every ‘mata’, whether from Punjab or Himachal, is respectable to me.”

Kangana Ranaut Defends Her Post
Earlier, the actor had approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court and later the Supreme Court, both of which declined to quash the complaint. The Supreme Court noted that her tweet had “added spice” to the situation. Kangana clarified that she had shared a “general meme” and did not intend to hurt anyone’s sentiments.
