At least 20 passengers were burnt alive and 16 critically injured after a private bus travelling from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur caught fire on Tuesday afternoon. According to police, smoke was first noticed from the rear of the vehicle on the Jaisalmer-Jodhpur highway. Local residents, Army personnel, and fire teams rushed to help.
