Khawaja Asif

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a strong warning to the Taliban government in Kabul, declaring that Islamabad will no longer tolerate cross-border terrorism. Speaking in the National Assembly, Asif said,Enough is enough. Our patience has limits. Those who shelter or facilitate terrorists, whether in Pakistan or Afghanistan, will face the consequences.”

Khawaja Asif Issues Warning

Asif revealed that during a visit to Afghanistan three years ago, the Taliban had demanded Rs 10 billion to relocate TTP militants. However, they gave no assurance that attacks on Pakistan would stop. The warning follows multiple terrorist incidents in Pakistan’s tribal areas, which have claimed the lives of several armed forces personnel.

Addressing Pakistan’s controversial past, Asif admitted in a 2025 interview that the country had previously supported terror groups for geopolitical reasons. This included backing during the Soviet–Afghan war and post-9/11 conflicts.

Former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto also acknowledged Pakistan’s history with terrorism but stressed that internal reforms have been made to prevent repeating past mistakes.
