The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday raided a property linked to Malayalam superstar Mammootty on Greenways Road in Chennai. The search was conducted at the premises of Wayfare Films, a production company associated with the actor. The operation, involving eight ED officials and CRPF personnel, was part of a broader probe into alleged luxury car smuggling and unauthorised foreign exchange dealings.

The ED’s investigation points to a Coimbatore-based network accused of using fake documents claiming connections with the Indian Army, US Embassy, and Ministry of External Affairs to secure fraudulent registrations for imported cars. These vehicles were allegedly sold at undervalued rates to several high-profile individuals, including actors Prithviraj Sukumaran, Dulquer Salmaan, and Amith Chakalakkal.
